PROF. DR. ROBERT FOLGER

Robert Folger holds a professorship of Romance Literature with the Department of Romance Studies at Heidelberg University. His research focuses primarily on the medieval and early modern literature and culture of Spain and Latin America, as well as the literature and cultures of Latin America from the 19th century until the present day. He is a member of the board of directors of the Heidelberg Center for Ibero-American Studies (HCIAS), director of the Central Language Lab, and subproject leader at the SFB 933 “Material Text Cultures” at Heidelberg University.

PROF. DR. THOMAS MEIER

Thomas Meier has been trained as an archaeologist and holds a professorship in pre- and early history at Heidelberg University. He has researched and taught in the subject areas of medieval death, burial, and afterlife, on the making and appropriation of heritage and on human-environmental relations in the longue durée. For eight years he has been on the directorate of the Heidelberg Center for the Environment (HCE), serving two and a half years as director. Over the years Thomas has focused more and more on the epistemology and conditions of academic reasoning with special focus on critical inquiry and materialities. He usually works from a perspective of radical constructivism.
